Boneo House

A new country house associated with Boneo Park Equestrian Centre which is located towards the southern end of the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.

Situated on the southern side of the property, The Boneo house sits on a knoll with panoramic views over the private wetland environment which is home to significant endangered species. The separate needs of shelter in an exposed rural location and taking advantage of living in a spectacular location are addressed and expressed in the architecture. The house is designed with first principle passive energy efficiency measures as guiding principles. There is generous use of natural materials including Australian native hardwood timbers and Australian sandstone cladding to elements of the walls and southern roof. The Boneo house is designed to weather gracefully in a relatively severe environment and to be providing shelter and a comfortable living environment for generations to come. Completed 2008
